Bio

I’m a structural fabulist. I was a journalist for 10 years and I’ve been a technology analyst since 2000; my work has always included elements of writing and imagination. (I even occasionally get to write fiction for work.)

My bachelor’s degree from Duke is in political science and literature. I’ve been working on my fiction since 2016. In 2015, I wrote a narrative non-fic about playing Minecraft with my son for years. I did get representation for it and we were nearly successful, but editors do sometimes leave, and the project faltered (I blame Fortnite).

I am a frequent public speaker IRL and virtually. Leading workshops or addressing clients directly is part of my daily work; I just returned from a conference where one presentation attracted 1,100 attendees and I scored a 4.5. I live in Holyoke, Massachusetts, with my life partner. My son is in college.
